112715 - The King's Castle is grieved to report the passing of my father, Roger D. Brooks, beloved and adored by all. While celebrating one of our favorite holidays, this Thanksgiving he passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. He will be sorely missed, but greatly remembered. Ummm... Happy Thanksgiving?
082615 - Amelia Boynton Robinson, a matriarch of the civil rights movement immortalized in a photograph taken on Bloody Sunday, has died. She turned 104 on August 18, though some in her closest circles insist she was 110. Boynton Robinson suffered a stroke last month and had been hospitalized in Montgomery, Alabama. She died early Wednesday, relatives said. Her remarkable life was reintroduced to America this year with the movie "Selma," which portrayed the 1965 demonstrations that led to the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Rest in peace mighty woman of valor!

081615 - The King's Castle is sad to acknowledge the death of a great and brilliant civil rights freedom fighter, Julian Bond at the age of 75. There is so much to say about my brother as I've heard him speak on several occasions, so please read up on him in The New York Times. Rest in peace my brother.
070415 - Happy 4th of July!! Be safe and enjoy the holiday!
062115 - Happy Father's Day! A special shout out to my dad, Roger D. Brooks, and to all the father's out there doing your thing to create the perfect duplicate of yourselves. May your queens bless you today as the quintessential king of all times. Me, I'm being treated at the "Rib Crib" for the first time and I can't wait. Enjoy!!

051415 - The King's Castle is aggrieved to announce the passing of one of America's most notable Kings, B.B. King of Tennessee. A great man and a great Blue's player, along with his guitar Lucille, have passed into eternal greatness. RIP King!

030115 - Finally, "The King's Castle" has purchased its own electronic real estate, www.thekingscastle.net. A milestone and welcomed venture to say the least. I look forward to making this web address a notable one to say the least. Thank you all for your support! Peace and blessings.
022715 - It is with a sad heart that The King's Castle mourns the loss of Leonard "Mr. Spock" Nimoy. Along with the cast and crew of Star Trek, Mr. Spock was a powerful character. His repressive half human side comingled with his Vulcan highly logical side, he showed the duality of mankind, and the struggle we all share in forging ourselves. He is the third in the cast to have passed away, along with DeForrest Kelley and James Doohan. Please enjoy this tribute to my favorite television show of all times entitled: "Star Trick"

020115 - Happy Black History Month! Today we celebrate the heroes of days gone bye, as well as the heroes of our present. I believe it is with dubious distinction that the freedom fighters of yester year are acknoweldged by all races everywhere! The very dream of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, coming to past, in limited fashion I must admit. But as long as we strive together as a nation of people, the dream lives on. Despite the haters and those who wish to send us backwards in time, we must fight on! Peace and blessing to all!
