"Star Trick"
An Homag to Star Trek's 'An Enemy Within'
I must admit, I really love science fiction.
Yes, I’m addicted to missions in outer space.
Wishing I could enlist somehow is my position,
so I bought my own phaser just in case.
‘Twas late one night while laying on the couch,
having choked on a perfectly twisted bleezie.
I crossed my legs as I began to stretch out,
for Star Trek was coming on the t.v.
And believe me, this one’s gonna be the best,
as Mr. Scott is just beaming Capt. Kirk aboard.
Good and bad somehow spliced thru the tech,
and bad Kirk beamed in on his own accord.
Two captains, the bad and the good,
and no one knows but he who knows it all.
That’s me, though I’m stuck here in the hood,
with my communicator, ready to make a call.
I watch as the bad Kirk begins to fight,
starting riots in sick bay and the mess halls.
Presenting the good Kirk in a bad light,
but winning all the back room brawls.
Soon, the good Kirk comes on the scene,
and shows he cares for bad Kirk in his despair.
I swear this is the best episode I’ve ever seen,
as I stretch on out within my cozy chair.

The good Kirk and Spock hatched a plan,
to reunite the two Kirk’s using the transporter.
I used my tricorder to scan, as I lay on the divan,
knowing Spock had everything in order.
But just before the two Kirk’s beam out,
I saw my mom entering the transporter room.
Oh Lord! My mama’s gonna scream and shout,
leaving both Kirk’s permanently doomed!
As I motioned for my mom to “stop please!”
She suddenly reached out and grabbed my hand.
Saying, “Wake up boy, and turn off that t.v.,
you fell asleep watching Star Trek again!”
