What I've enjoyed most in my endeavor is the self-identification expressed upon the faces of those who've been allowed to view these jewels in advance. Motivating me to write even more, helping me to face my own fears mano e' mano. Providing me an opportunity to run, fight or accept the things I've wanted to ignore. In a sense, writing has become my way of accepting this world for what it is, or fighting for what is just and right.
Over the years I've had the priviledge of composing some poetry that has thrilled my readers on end. "The Love Carousel"
I created "The Love Carousel" on Valentine's Day 2015 on the Crown Jewels page to host a few love poems that had received many votes for their careful attention to the intracacies of love. As a writer of life, love, loss and laughter these are quintessential parodies that everyone can relate to, as long as love continues to
endure in a loving relationship. Although one would anticipate that it does, love has a way of diminishing in a relationship dependent upon the people involved. In "The Love Carousel" true love always endures and portends great familial success, granting eternal love a platform to be admired, endeared and enticed. I learned that enlightenment and even encouragement goes to the willing. In other words, if the recipient refuses to recieve that which is available to them, then they are not victims, but willing participants in their own demise. It became incumbent upon me to seek those who are willing and desirous of truth and understanding. I also had to detach myself from them as I felt their presence wasn't something I should entertain. All ready I feel the relief from the stress they brought me.
As an activist, I believe it is my duty to share with the world what I have learned and experienced during my journey. I believe learning from the successes and mistakes of the past can propel us to a greater plane where co-existence in peace are the fields upon which we play. Accepting the putting of ourselves together in a space so finite, that coming together is a necessary place where we all unite. This is not just some pipe dream, but a place from which I greet everyone in the hope that we can commune in one place, as one people, the 'human race.'
I felt that I had to write on the 'activist' aspect of my life. Recently, I've met some 'right-wing radicals' who were sure to let me know that my opinion, no matter how sound or equitable, could be refuted with the simplest of actions. They simply stated, 'you're lying' or 'stop misquoting the Bible' regardless of my sincerity or accurate 'copy & paste' from scripture.
