Crown Jewels of Poetic Laughter
In my days of nomadic youth
together with father, hand in hand,
respecting a man who spoke the truth
'til there came a change in his royal plans.
For he'd met a whore on Lincoln Blvd.
who made him feel like he was a real man,
despite the family he’d soon disregard
giving ear to his number one fan.
Stealing his dreams in a dream catcher,
becoming the nightmare that hurts so good.
Where everything bad begins to catch you,
living happily ever after in the hood.
Until the day he awakes from his dream
discovering he's forever bound to a chair,
where the one who poisoned him seems
to be the one who truly cares.
And his family all around him
can do nothing but watch and stare,
at the broken man he is bound to
with a stepson as his heir.
Erasing the legacy of his only begotten
with the wink of an eye and a crooked grin,
whose wicked souls are dirty and rotten,
a wicked stepmother and her kin.
