Crown Jewels of Poetic Laughter

In a game of chess
the lowly pawn is expendable,
tho’ not as powerful as the rest
even his best can seem minimal.
Moving one space at a time
challenging all in every direction,
slowly marching down the line
providing its protections.
Usually standing in the way
to prevent their winning move,
killing ur groove just the same
& he’s to blame if you loose.
While at the end of every game
at least one pawn is on the board,
if used with wisdom & not shame
u could’ve run up the score!
