Crown Jewels of Poetic Loss
Colorful clouds hover above the skies
disseminating the golden rays of the sun,
where gaudy days from way on high
brightly beams upon everyone.
As the sun rises over a glorious day
shining abroad to provide it’s daily light,
her glory is missed by a father in pain,
bound to the darkness of night.
Praying for might as each day passes
& the much needed strength to carry on,
staying strong despite the circumstances
tho’ he’s not sure for how long.
Lest he grows old w/painful memories
& the death of a son he once gave his all,
living with time that’s only temporary
like the leaves before the fall.
With head raised toward changing skies
the warmth of the sun rests upon his face,
recalling the day a new season arrives
as another soon takes its place.
Despite the plight of his daily delirium
& loss of life from the depths of his soul,
hopes to manage his equilibrium
are lost with all self control.
"Waiting for Winter"
-JWill 092413
Feeling the cold winds of a wintry breeze
whose solstice hides the warmth of the sun,
& the chill in the air of a winter’s freeze
depletes his heat till there’s none.
Freezing in time the cool winds that blow
and there’s no growth for those who enter,
encased where time never melts the snow
of a grieving father waiting for winter.
