All of the world is a collegiate campus

invoking an institution of higher learning,

where art imitates life on its canvas

displayed for our discernment.

 

A curriculum of cultural enlightenment

historically scribed right in front of our eyes,

curators of hate saturate our environment

using academia as their guise.

 

From the grounds of schools like OSU

where confederate flags hang in their dorms,

or the chants & rants of yesterday’s taboo

a séance at OU, new stars are born.

 

Conjuring ghosts from their bigoted past

at the front of a bus they thought was sound,

a new fraternity of racist tyranny recast

from the new kids of an ol’ town.

 

The defiance heard in each racist chanter

whose lyrics of segregation are out of date,

proves their alliance to a deadly cancer

wherein hate shall meet its fate.

 

Lest we pretend those who speak with haste

share the distaste we sense as they speak,

taught to hate on the basis of race

long before they pledged SAE.
