Love is like a box of chocolates
frantically torn open by a candy lover,
an assortment of treasures in candy boxes
where a love of chocolate is discovered.
Whose vast and creative shapes
creates a taste that melts in your mouth,
& for every sweet tooth that just can’t wait
there’s an ache you can’t do without.
Appealing is her brown sugar tone
and out of the box with her cocoa smile,
a couverture of butter churned on its own
crafting milk chocolate made with style.
Unwrapped and ready to be eaten
the taste of cocoa sits upon my tongue,
a chocolate kiss that’s naturally sweetened
& with one taste my heart is sprung.
Whose mix is as joyful as it is varied
whether covering caramel, fruits or nuts,
and to whose sweetness I am now married
coupled with my love for coconut.
My fingers exploit their journey
while hovering above my favorite choices,
within the golden tin that I keep turning
dancing to the sound of silent noises.

Singing love songs in my head
committing to thy love in just one taste,
my heart to a box of chocolates in red
& a happy smile full of tooth aches.
